Haleon
Health inequality: Lived experience
Role: Creative lead, creative producer and interviewer
The brief
Haleon are on a mission to deliver better everyday health with humanity. However the pharmaceutical industry were feeling disconnected with statistical realities of health inequality. There was a clear need for human-centered narratives to illustrate the everyday barriers people face in accessing good health.
The solution
Haleon Lived Experience is a 10 part film series documenting the real life stories of people facing health inequalities and the practitioners fighting to support them. Using live action filming, self-shot footage and interview audio, the films explore real stories of bias, prejudice, accessibility and health literacy. Participants include a non-binary person in the US facing judgement from doctors all the way to UK pharmacist James (above), who's helping refugees and migrants understand healthcare in a new country. Other stories covered accessibility access in Brazil, bias and prejudice in Germany and health literacy in the US.

The impact
The films brought empathy and clarity to abstract issues, significantly increasing awareness of health inequality and a lack of health literacy in the real world. The campaign helped Haleon employees understand the issues and it reinforced their commitment to putting humanity at the center of solutions.
